Tesla SuperCharger Network Now Supports Coast To Coast Trips


A father and his daughter are one of the first Tesla Model S owners to make the trip from the NY JFK Supercharger to the Supercharger station in Hawthorne, CA.

Tesla recently opened a few more stations which now allow coast-to-coast travel using the Model S.

Unfortunately, there isn't much press coverage, but let the lack of coverage not fool you, this was a major milestone in electric car history.

Trip Stats:
  • NYC -> LAX = 3,619 miles.
  • 1,366.3kWh of energy was used.
  • Average energy consumption was 378Wh/mile.
Considering the weather conditions, these numbers are pretty impressive!
